Incoming Duke Men’s Basketball player Jayson Tatum was recently awarded with one of the top honors for high school basketball, excelling on and off the court during his high school senior season to win the 2016 Gatorade National Player of the Year.
The 6-9 forward averaged 29 points and 9 rebounds per game for Chaminade Prep in St. Louis and is ranked as one of the top high school players in the country. Tatum is a three-time Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year and has already been honored this season as a McDonald’s All-American, a Jordan Brand Classic selection, a first-team Naismith Trophy All-American,a first-team All-USA Today selection, and is a finalist for the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year.
