DURHAM, N.C. – Senior linebacker Ben Humphreys picked up another weekly accolade Wednesday, being named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the Blue Devils move to 2-0 on the season with a 21-7 win at Northwestern this past Saturday.
Humphreys, a 6-2, 225-pound native of Newport Beach, Calif., recorded 15 tackles and 0.5 tackles for lost yardage. Duke’s defensive effort helped snap Northwestern’s nine-game winning streak, which entered the weekend as the longest active streak among Power 5 teams.
Five of Humphreys’ game-high tackle total resulted in no gain for the Wildcats while he had one for minus-three yards.
