DURHAM, N.C. – A dominant weekend both in the circle and at the plate has landed Duke Blue Devil freshman Katherine Huey in the national spotlight, as she was named ESPNW’s National Player of the Week Wednesday.
With the honor, Huey is the first in program history to capture a weekly award, adding to an already impressive season for the Blue Devils’ young ace. Huey’s all-around dominance on the weekend spearheaded Duke’s perfect 4-0 showing in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, defeating both Penn State and Purdue twice at the Duke Softball Stadium.
