JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior Nati Sheppard and sophomore Lauren Hoffman became the fourth and fifth Blue Devils to punch their tickets to the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships Friday with their performances at the NCAA East Preliminary Round.
In the 400m hurdles, Hoffman clocked in the second-fastest time in Duke outdoor history as she crossed the finish line in 57.92, a 41 second improvement, to place 12th overall in the quarterfinals.
Sheppard had similar success in pole vault as she tied for 11th out of 48 competitors. Sheppard posted a height of 4.
