EUGENE, Ore. – The 16th-ranked Duke women's track and field team notched a historic day of competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday, highlighted by graduate student Lauren Hoffman's advancement to the national final of the 400m hurdles following a spectacular performance in the semifinal.
Hoffman smashed her own program record for the fourth time this season and second consecutive meet to secure the automatic qualifier and book her spot in Saturday's event final. The Haymarket, Va., native clocked a personal best of 55.47 seconds and finished with the third-fastest overall time of the semifinal.
