BROOMALL, Pa. – Duke women's golf junior Rylie Heflin was recognized as the Carol Semple Thompson Women's Amateur Player of the Year on Saturday, which was announced by the Pennsylvania Golf Association.
A native of Avondale, Pa., Heflin earned 350 points to claim the Pennsylvania Women's Amateur Player of the Year for the first time in her career. Heflin won the 87th Pennsylvania Women's Amateur Championship over the summer at Sunnehanna Country Club in dramatic fashion, which helped elevate her to win the award.
"It's pretty surreal," said Heflin. "It's truly an honor to be named Pennsylvania Women's Amateur Golfer of the Year.
