DURHAM, N.C. – Less than a week after helping Belarus qualifying for the 2016 Olympics with Belarus, Duke alumna Lindsey Harding has signed with the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA.
Harding, a 2007 Duke graduate, was originally drafted No. 1 by the Mercury nine years ago, but was traded to Minnesota and never saw game action for Phoenix.
A 5-8 point guard, Harding made her debut with the Mercury Friday evening and notched a tied for team-high five assists along with two points in 21 minutes.
Phoenix chose Harding first overall in the 2007 draft then traded her to Minnesota for Tangela Smith, who played on Phoenix's 2007 and 2009 championship teams.
