Duke sophomore goalkeeper Piper Hampsch has been selected as Duke's PNC Achiever's Student Athlete of the Week after a remarkable nine saves against the nation's 13th-ranked team, Princeton Saturday.
The Blue Devils had a 3-1 victory on Princeton's home turf, with no small thanks to Hampsch's strong performance in the goal. Duke's 18th-ranked field hockey team improved to 2-3 on the season while the Tigers fell to 0-3.
Princeton drew three penalty corners in the first quarter, creating significant scoring opportunities. Hampsch provided saves on all three, finishing the first period with three stops.
