DURHAM – The honors continue to roll in for Duke goalkeeper Piper Hampsch. Fresh off being named the ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, the Blue Devil senior has been selected as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts last weekend.
Hampsch garners the recognition for the second time in her career. The Blue Devil captain posted consecutive shutouts as Duke beat No. 6 Syracuse, 4-0, and Old Dominion, 1-0.
In the 2-0 weekend for the Blue Devils, Hampsch made 7-0 saves to stretch her shutout streak to 136:54.
