DURHAM – In recognition of her excellence in the classroom and on the turf, Duke goaltender Piper Hampsch has been named the ACC Field Hockey Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year the conference announced Friday. She shares the award with Syracuse's Eefke van den Nieuwenhof.
Hampsch is Duke's first ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year for field hockey since Lauren Blazing won the award in 2014 and 2015 and it is the fourth time a Blue Devil has garnered the distinction.
Overall, 18 Blue Devils earned All-ACC Academic honors tying Louisville for the most in the league.
