CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Three Duke men captured medals in the individual portion of the final day at the ACC Fencing Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C., Sunday afternoon. Junior Bryn Hammarberg registered his first ACC title in epee while senior Pascual Di Tella and sophomore Eoin Gronningsater each garnered silver in their respective weapons.
Hammarberg entered the semifinals as the fourth seed after going 8-4 in pool play. The Maplewood, N.J., native faced top-seeded teammate Amit Sarma in a battle for the finals as Hammarberg secured the victory to go on to defeat second-seeded Ariel Simmons of Notre Dame (15-11) to notch the crown.
