Duke Falls in ACC Championship Semifinal
The Blue Devils were held scoreless for the first 35:56 of the ACC semifinal Friday night as their comeback effort came up just short. The Irish held Duke to just 13 shots in the first half, including only three in the first quarter, while Shane Doss made five second-quarter saves to help Notre Dame to a 4-0 lead early in the third quarter. Jack Bruckner led the Blue Devils with three goals and nearly tied the game in the final seconds before being denied by the post. Duke outscored the Irish 4-3 in the fourth quarter, but a pair of goals 24 seconds apart in the fourth proved to be enough for Notre Dame.
