DURHAM, N.C. – 2020 Duke fencing graduate Eoin Gronningsater was recently named a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) grant recipient for the 2024-25 year in Spain.
Since graduating from Duke, Gronningsater has been working as a math and ELA learning specialist at Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy 2 Middle School in New York City. During his Fulbright year, he will teach English at a university outside of Madrid, Spain.
Gronningsater left his mark on the Duke history books as one of the most successful fencers in program history.
A two-time captain and three-time All-American in foil, Gronningsater saw both athletic and academic success throughout his four years as a Blue Devil.
