DURHAM, N.C. – Redshirt sophomore Rebecca Greenwell and sophomore Azurá Stevens have been named early season candidates for the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) National Player of the Year award.
Twenty players from 16 schools were selected to the initial watch list for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which will be presented at the College Basketball Awards gala April 11, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Greenwell enters Thursday’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge contest with Minnesota averaging 14.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals in seven games.
