We saw this article Friday about Grayson Allen and his encounter with Trae Young this week in NBA summer league play. Allen is reduced to a caricature - what a surprise - and judged by a hard play. Again, what a surprise.
He’s also judged here by current academic and political currents with the writer putting everything down to “white privilege,” which is a bizarre thought when applied to the NBA, because the NBA is, fairly obviously, a place where white players are a minority and, like everyone else, have to earn their spot and any respect they deserve.
