DURHAM, N.C. - Blue Devil women’s basketball standout Miela Goodchild has been named one of the 19 players to watch for in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup. The Australian sophomore leads her country in the World Cup hosted in Bangkok, Thailand from July 20-28.
Goodchild and her teammates just finished a 10-day tour of France in preparation for the World Cup. The Australians took on the hosts, Belgium and Russia to get tournament ready before they head to their southeast Asian destination.
A native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Goodchild set a Duke freshman record with 73 three-pointers in 30 games, which was the eighth-most in ACC history.
