DURHAM, N.C. — Coming off helping lead the Blue Devils to wins over East Carolina and Florida Gulf Coast University, Duke University freshman Miela Goodchild was named ACC Rookie of the Week Monday by a vote of the Blue Ribbon Panel.
A native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, Goodchild averaged 17.0 points, 2.5 steals, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists over the two contests.
Goodchild collected a career-high 19 points, matched a career high with four steals, three assists and four rebounds against East Carolina. She drained 4-of-7 treys and 5-of-8 field goals in the 83-66 win.
