BANGKOK, Thailand – After falling behind, 15-8, in the first quarter, Duke University sophomore Miela Goodchild scored all of her 11 points in the second quarter to help the Gems secure the lead and eventually total a 64-55 victory over Spain in the semifinals of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Saturday in Bangkok, Thailand.
Australia will next take on the United States, who downed Belgium, 67-59, in the semifinals.
It will mark a rematch of Australia’s first contest of the World Cup, and its only loss, dropping a 79-56 decision to the U.
