DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke football letterman Herb Goins has been honored by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame as one of five recipients of the annual 2018 NFF Chapter Leadership Awards.
Goins lettered three seasons (1965-66-67) as a fullback and offensive lineman for the Blue Devils, playing for head coaches Bill Murray and Tom Harp. The Charlotte, N.C., native graduated from Duke in 1969 with a degree in economics and served as the head football coach and athletic director at Northern Durham High School from 1971-75.
