DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman javelin specialist Katelyn Gochenour is set to represent Team USA at the 2017 Pan-American Junior Championships July 21-23 in Lima, Peru.
Gochenour is slated for competition at 3:40 p.m. EST on Friday, July 21. A complete schedule for this weekend’s events can be found here.
The Logan, Iowa, native secured her spot after placing second at the USA Track & Field (USATF) Junior Championships with a mark of 158-10 (48.43).
Gochenour capped her first collegiate season with a school-record toss of 178-0 (54.26) to finish sixth in the women’s javelin competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June.
