DURHAM, N.C. – One of the greats in Duke women’s soccer history moved a step closer to a prestigious NCAA award Tuesday, as recent Blue Devil graduate Christina Gibbons has been selected as one of the ACC’s two nominations for NCAA Woman of the Year.
Gibbons joins Notre Dame’s Lee Kiefer (fencing) as the two ACC nominees for the award. Established in 1991 and now in its 27th year, the NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.
