Georgia Tech Claims Series Over Duke

ATLANTA – No. 10 Duke was unable to slow the Georgia Tech offense as the Yellow Jackets captured the series with a 20-7 victory Friday at Russ Chandler Stadium.

Duke (38-14, 17-11 ACC) led 3-0 early before Georgia Tech (30-25, 14-15 ACC) took the lead with a five-run third then exploded for 12 runs in the fifth. The Yellow Jackets’ run total was the most allowed by the Blue Devils since Duke surrendered 21 at Georgia Tech April 3, 2010.

Chris Proctor had an RBI single in each of the first two frames before Jack Labosky added an RBI base knock in the third to give Duke an early 3-0 lead.
