DURHAM, N.C.—For the third time this season senior goaltender Danny Fowler was voted as the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Fowler anchored another solid defensive effort by the Blue Devils in their 11-7 win at Marquette Saturday.
Fowler was outstanding again in goal, making 13 saves and allowing just seven goals in an 11-7 road win over Marquette this past weekend. His 13 saves were one shy of matching his season-best of 14 as he stopped 65 percent of Marquette’s shots on goal.
After the Golden Eagles grabbed a 6-5 lead in the third quarter, Fowler anchored Duke’s defense in allowing one goal in the final 23:46 and making six saves in that stretch, including four in the fourth quarter.
