DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior Phoebe Donovan and sophomores Rhea Bergman, Shannon Tierney and Karley Whelan were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athletes for 2017, the organization announced.
To be named a CRCA Scholar-Athlete the student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative or higher grade-point average for her career, meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility and been a member of her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference.
