RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 13 Duke rowing team won four of its five opening heats, and all five boats advanced to their respective A Final in an action-packed Friday at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, N.C.
Co-hosting a meet alongside North Carolina for the first time in nearly two years, the Blue Devils put together several strong showings in the early set of races. The Varsity Eight squad kicked off the day with a winning 2,000-meter time of 6:36.350, finishing 7.191 seconds ahead of the second-place Wisconsin Lightweights. Duke's 2V8 crew followed up by besting UCF and North Carolina with a time of 6:43.
