DURHAM, N.C.— Four Blue Devils were recognized during the Duke football game Thursday versus North Carolina for their appearances in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Senior Rebecca Quinn of the women’s soccer team, Leona Maguire of the women’s golf program, Blue Devil alumna Abby Johnston of the diving program and Duke physiotherapist Nick Potter were honored during the second quarter on Thursday.
Quinn, a product of Toronto, Canada, helped lead the Canada Women’s National Team to a bronze medal in Rio. A native of Cavan, Ireland, Maguire placed tied 21st overall with a four-day total of 282 and made the first birdie of the tournament.
