NBA players have a lot of influence in our culture, and one former Blue Devil wants to use that to make an impact in his hometown. Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker recently wrote an excellent article for the Player’s Tribune describing how he wants to help end the gun violence in Chicago.
Parker describes what it was like for him growing up in Chicago surrounded by drive-by shootings, drugs and gangs. He writes, “You get used to the crime and, from a young age, you learn how to live with it”.
