DURHAM, N.C. – Thanks to an outstanding week at the plate, Duke softball freshman Kristina Foreman has been named the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week and ACC Co-Player of the Week, the organizations announced Tuesday.
After leading the Blue Devils through a record-setting weekend at Georgia Tech, Foreman made a little history of her own by becoming the first Blue Devil to earn weekly honors from USA Softball and the ACC. She is also the second true freshman this season to earn the national laurel.
"Kristina has been on fire the last 10 games and really took it to another level this weekend putting a charge into our offense against Georgia Tech,” Duke head coach Marissa Young said.
