CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – It was all Blue Devils from the start of Sunday’s rubber match, as Duke (14-18, 5-4 ACC) dominated the Virginia Cavaliers (16-13, 5-4 ACC) for an 8-0 run-rule victory to clinch the series at The Park.
The Blue Devils picked up their second ACC series win of the year behind a career day from freshman Kristina Foreman, who went 2-for-3 at the plate and became the first player in program history to drive in five runs in a single game. Foreman drove in the game’s first two runs on a double to right center, catalyzing a four-run Duke first inning.
