DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior wrestler Matt Finesilver is set to compete at the U23 Senior World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, beginning Thursday.
Finesilver, who earned an Olympic redshirt earlier this season, garnered a spot on the U23 USA Greco-Roman World Team after cruising through his 87 kg bracket at the National Championships.
During that tournament he upended No. 5 seed Timothy Eubanks in his opening bout before taking down fourth-seeded Jimmy Stillerman in the quarterfinals. His hot streak continued in the semifinal match where he bested the bracket's top seed, Bear Hughes.
