DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke field hockey team was named a National Academic Squad for the 2016 season, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Wednesday.
The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieved a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2016-17 academic year. Each of the seven ACC teams garnered the academic accolade from the NFHCA.
The Blue Devils have received NFHCA National Academic Squad recognition in each of head coach Pam Bustin’s six seasons at the helm of the program.
Earlier this spring, Duke paced the ACC with seven selections to the All-ACC Academic Team.
