DALLAS – Several Blue Devils posted strong showings this past week at the 2016 USA Fencing National Championships in Dallas, highlighted by top-15 finishes from incoming freshmen Eoin Gronningsater, Caitie Buteau and Lindsay Sapienza as well as junior Haley Fisher in their respective events.
Gronningsater began the event with an eighth place finish in the Division I Men’s Foil on the first day. After a 3-2 record and +7 indicator in pool play, Gronningsater won four bouts in the elimination rounds before falling to top-seed and eventual bronze medalist Sam Moelis in the table of eight.
