DURHAM – Duke fencing head coach Omar Elgeziry was named a finalist for the Women's Team Collegiate Coach of the Year, the United States Fencing Coaches Association announced.
The finalists were selected from member nominations of student-athletes and coaches across NCAA divisions. Award winners will be selected by a vote of USFCA collegiate member coaches and will be announced next week.
Elgeziry was named also ACC Women's Co-Coach of the Year following his successful first season at the helm of the Blue Devils.
Elgeziry helped guide the women's team to a 27-6 regular-season record and finished the year ranked fifth nationally in the USFCA poll.
