PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Duke rising senior Chandler Eaton will compete in his first professional event when he tees it up at the 2019 United States Open at Pebble Beach on Thursday.
Of the 156 golfers vying for the United States Golf Association (USGA) national championship, Eaton is one of 16 amateurs in the field. The Alpharetta, Ga., native survived a playoff to advance through the U.S. Open Local Qualifier at the Duke University Golf Club, then shot 9-under 135 to advance though the Sectional Qualifier last week at Hawks Ridge outside Atlanta.
