WEST POINT, Miss. – After jumping out to an early lead in the first round of match play Wednesday at the U.S. Women’s Amateur, Duke University sophomore Gina Kim dropped a 1-up decision to Megha Ganne to conclude her run at the 6,502-yard, Par 72 Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
A product of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kim held a 2-up lead through two holes, but would lose holes No. 3 and No. 5 to get the match back to all square. She would take a 1-up lead through six with a par and the match would be back-and-forth the rest of the way.
