DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke field hockey team wrapped up its preseason Saturday with a full-length exhibition match against ACC foe North Carolina at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.
In their final tune-up prior to the start of the 2017 campaign, the two squads battled through 70 minutes of action. Among the highlights for the Blue Devils was a nine-save performance by redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Sammi Steele, who anchored an impressive defensive effort.
“At this point of preseason, to have a game that competitive, and to have the effort and the energy from both teams out there for 70 minutes is really impressive,” said head coach Pam Bustin.
