Over the Thanksgiving holiday break, the Duke Women’s Basketball team competed in the 2015 Cancun Challenge and won all three of their games to earn the challenge’s Mayan Tournament championship. The Blue Devils recorded a 74-68 win over Idaho, an 86-48 win over Iowa State, and then an 85-34 win against Texas State in three games in three consecutive days.
For the most part Duke dominated in the challenge winning by average of 31.7 points per game, making 51.6 percent of their field goals in Mexico, and limiting two opponents to under 50 points. Sophomore Azurá Stevens was named the MVP of the tournament after averaging 18.
