Duke hosted #3 Notre Dame in an ESPN Big Monday game and fell just short of upsetting the Fighting Irish in a 68-61 loss. The Blue Devils were led by guard Rebecca Greenwell who finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Duke Women’s Basketball showed vast improvements in this game since falling out of the Top 25 rankings, and even led 55-50 in the 4th quarter. Eventually, however, the experience of Notre Dame took over as the Fighting Irish went on an 13-0 run as the Blue Devils’ offense stalled and they couldn’t extend their lead going scoreless for over 6 minutes due to turnovers, missed shot attempts, and several crucial missed free throws late in the game.
