We’re only two games into the Kara Lawson era, and it’s not like Longwood and Western Carolina are necessarily world-class opponents, but nonetheless, there’s a lot for Duke fans to be excited about.
First, while it clearly worked for a long time, Joanne P. McCallie’s offense was very reminiscent of what Gary Williams ran at Maryland. Duke’s production was choppy and erratic and her system, overall, was not very fan friendly.
So far, Lawson’s looks much more fun. Against Western Carolina, Duke hit 13 threes and she makes it clear that if you’re open it’s bombs away.
