Duke running back Deon Jackson got the Blue Devils off to a good start with a 75-yard touchdown run on the first play of the game. The Hurricanes were able to take the lead in the second quarter thanks to scores by running backs Deejay Dallas and Travis Homer, both of which ended the game with over 100 yards rushing. Duke though came back and held on to 20-12 win thanks to big plays by Ben Humphreys on defense and the steady hand of Daniel Jones at quarterback.
