CARY, N.C. – With Sunday’s 14-under 274, the Duke Blue Devils captured the Stitch Intercollegiate tournament crown, their second consecutive title this month.
Identical to yesterday’s performance, each man in the Blue Devil lineup shot under par, a crucial key in the team’s ability to edge out ACC rivals Wake Forest and N.C. State, who went 19-under and 8-under on the day, respectively.
The six-stroke spread over Wake Forest gave the Blue Devils enough of a cushion to seal a victory in their final event before heading into this coming weekend’s ACC Tournament.
Additionally, the team’s 36-under overall score proved to be its best of the 2017-18 season, topping their previous low of 22-under in the Rod Myers Invitational in September.
