DURHAM – Coming off a win at second-ranked North Carolina on Friday night, the Duke women's soccer team has moved up to No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches national poll released Tuesday.
The Blue Devils have shot out to a 7-0-0 start this season, marking the second-most wins to kick off a campaign in program history (2000, eight wins). Duke began at No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason rankings in August before steadily climbing to No. 2 this week, marking the Blue Devils' highest ranking since Oct. 31, 2017.
Duke's impressive first half of the 2021 regular season is even more notable given the quality of the team's opponents.
