A surprisingly easy win in Cameron.
Duke returned to action Monday with a surprisingly easy 105-66 demolition of an Elon Phoenix team that came into Cameron with a 9-3 mark but was overmatched against a sharp, focused Duke club.
Elon entered the contest having used an up-tempo attack and copious amounts of 3-pointers to average almost 83 points per game and they made every effort to use those tactics against Duke.
And it worked-for about five minutes. Duke only led 13-12 at the first media timeout.
Elon coach Matt Matheny said his team "did some of the little things well" early.
