DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse team begins the year tabbed the No. 21 team in the nation, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced in the first IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll released by the organization on Monday.
Head Coach Kerstin Kimel returns 27 letterwinners and eight starters from her 11-8 team a year ago that finished ranked No. 21 in the IWLCA polls. The Blue Devils averaged over 15 goals per contest and were among the nation's leaders at the draw. Of Duke's 19 games last season, 10 were against ranked opponents.
