DURHAM – The Duke men's lacrosse team will open the 2024 campaign ranked No. 2 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll. The Blue Devils sit behind 2023 NCAA Champion Notre Dame.
All five of the ACC programs are ranked in the top 20 with Notre Dame, Duke and Virginia coming in at Nos. 1, 2 and 3. Syracuse is ninth and North Carolina is tabbed 19th.
The Blue Devils return the core of the 2023 team that finished the year 16-3 overall, won the ACC title and advanced to the NCAA Championship game. Duke welcomes back 79 percent of its total points and 80 percent of its goals from a year ago, including the starting attack unit of Brennan O'Neill, Dyson Williams and Andrew McAdorey.
