DURHAM – Duke softball was ranked in the USA Today/NFCA top-25 preseason poll for the third consecutive year after earning the No. 16 spot the organization announced Tuesday.
With the announcement of Tuesday's release, the Blue Devils have been ranked in the top-25 in all four major preseason polls for just the second time in program history.
Head Coach Marissa Young returns 14-of-24 members from last year's team that posted a 44-11 record and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time in program history. In addition, six new faces are set to take the field this season for the Blue Devils in five freshmen and one transfer sophomore.
