DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke men's lacrosse team will open its season this Saturday as the preseason No. 5 team according to the USILA Coaches' preseason poll as announced Tuesday. The Blue Devils finished last season ranked third with Penn State.
Reigning NCAA Champion Virginia tops the list with 311 points, while Penn State is second. Yale, Maryland and Duke round out the top five, respectively. Overall, eight of Duke's 2020 opponents are ranked in the top 20 with six being in the top 10.
Duke was tabbed sixth in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook and fifth in the Preseason Nike/US Lacrosse rankings.
