DURHAM, N.C.—For the first time in program history Duke wrestling will open a campaign ranked in the top 25 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. The Blue Devils were voted 24th in the poll released Wednesday.
Duke opens the 2018-19 season Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Hokie Open. The Blue Devils are one of four ACC programs to be ranked in the top 25. NC State leads the way at No. 8, while Virginia Tech is 11th. Tobacco Road rival North Carolina is 23rd.
The Blue Devils return a wealth of talent with eight starters back in the lineup, including the quartet of Finesilver brothers who all qualified for the NCAA Championships a year ago.
