DURHAM, N.C. – Duke battled to five sets for the third straight match, coming up just short against Miami 3-2 (25-22, 26-28, 19-25, 25-19, 15-12) Sunday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke (7-9, 2-4 ACC) led 2-1 before Miami (11-5, 4-2 ACC) rebounded to grab the victory. The Hurricanes totaled nine more kills (67-58) and committed six fewer attack errors (29-35) than the Blue Devils. Duke held Miami to a .199 hitting percentage. However, the Blue Devils posted a .111 hitting percentage, the team’s lowest mark this season.
“We just were not as successful offensively today as we need to be in win a match like this,” said head coach Jolene Nagel.
