ANN ARBOR, MICH - The Duke volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season as the Blue Devils fell to Michigan 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 13-25, 12-25, 6-15) in a five-set marathon Friday evening in Ann Arbor, Mich.
With the setback, the Blue Devils dip to 6-1 as the Wolverines improve to 4-1.
Duke was led by graduate outside hitter Payton Schwantz as she registered her first double-double of the season with 12 kills and just three errors to hit .346 percent to go along with 13 digs. Senior Ade Owokoniran added 10 kills while setter Alex Springate dished 28 assists to find seven Blue Devils.
